I heart traveling and due to work the husband and I don’t get to explore as much as I like but when we do it’s epic. So I’ve decided to share my epic travels aka MC travels with you when they occur. Most of my solo travels are of the creative persuasion which I know you totally want to know ALL about. wink.
This weekend as I mentioned in yesterday’s post I made a quick trip to Jacksonville (Jax) to hang with my fave creatives and it was a superb 4 hour visit. One simply can’t fit in enough chit chat, laughter and hugs in a 4 hour visit but we did our best. 4 hours of travel and 4 hours of creative hangin’ made for a long day but it was totally worth it. Maria and Elissa are two of my favorite online turned meet up in real life friends.
First was lunch, as Maria would say I was starting to get hangry so food was required.
We decided on Thai at Indochine. I’ve not been to Jacksonville many times and this portion of town was cool with a historic flair. Maria and Elissa did a great job showing me what they could in a short time frame. Soon after we finished lunch there was a typical Florida afternoon downpour. So what do a group of creative ladies who love social media do when we’re stuck without umbrella’s? Tweet and Instagram, duh.
I captured Maria giving some Twitter lessons as she is the Twitter queen. I love the photo I took of Maria adding a filter on our selfie while the restaurant staff tried to clean up around us, ha!
We slid over to Starbucks while we waited a little longer on the rain to subside. I believe if we had stayed a few more minutes in that Starbucks we would have taken it over… we chatted with the barista who noticed my Sherlock shirt which quickly turned into a who is your favorite Doctor from Doctor Who discussion and before we knew it Elissa was spilling spoilers from How I Met your Mother to random coffee sippers (accidentally, of course). Needless to say we became chatty with the staff and patrons and couldn’t contain our excitement or laughter. You’re welcome, Starbucks.
We finally made it over to a super cool bookstore which was my last stop before heading out. Insert sad face.
Here is a little more about these talented ladies. Well, it’s more of a love letter to them from me.
Elissa of One Stone Events. Elissa is one of the sweetest people I know and her heart is made of pure gold. She’s funny and supportive. Her talents blow my mind! Her expertise and her career in the theater industry is inspiring. Not only does she have a impressive career history but she’s an event stylish like no other! Seriously, look at some of her events on One Stone Events and tell me she isn’t a genius stylist! She’s wonderful.
Maria of Love and Sugar Kisses. This lady is like my geeky side kick, well, at least I pretend she is because she’s too cool for me. We share similar fan girl love and as I mentioned she rocks at Twitter. Maria is currently working on a project that has me in awe and her fondant work is so good you’ll say ‘oh no she didn’t’! Her hugs make me happy and she’s one of the most amazing people I’ve ever been blessed to know.
