Hi guys! I’m Sharon from Cupcakes and Cutlery and I’m so grateful that Melissa is letting me share this delicious cocktail with you today! I adore Melissa and I’m happy to be on her site!
Summer is one of my favorite times of year and I drink a TON of ice tea. So I figured, hey, why not make it in to a cocktail. It is super refreshing and isn’t too heavy on the alcohol which is good since you need to think about things like pool safety and sucking in your stomach at all times while in your swimsuit.
Use whatever ice tea is your favorite and make it in whatever method you like. I use my Keurig because, duh, it’s super simple and I don’t have to fool with boiling water, etc. This recipe also needs Smirnoff Wild Honey flavored vodka, Triple Sec and fresh lemon juice (I used a Meyer lemon because I love them).
What I love about this Honey Vodka is that it helps to sweeten the ice tea without over sweetening the drink. And the honey flavor is authentic tasting. So aside from the liquor, this is a pretty healthy cocktail. If there really is such a thing. Black tea helps melt belly fat. It’s true. I read it on the cover of a tabloid in the grocery store check out line once. And those never lie.
This recipe is really easy and doesn’t even need a cocktail shaker. Just a glass and a spoon. The perfect quick cocktail for those lazy days of summer.
I started by adding the vodka and triple sec to the bottom of my glass and then topped it with ice.
I filled the glass the rest of the way with ice tea and gave it a quick stir with a spoon. Feel free to sweeten it if you need to but I find it just sweet enough as is.
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon and serve with a lemon wedge on the cup. Then enjoy your delicious ice tea cocktail.
