I am so very excited about today’s post! I’m sharing the Melissa Creates home office space with y’all! Now you get a glimpse of where Melissa actually creates. Just one month ago we moved into our new home to make room for baby. One of the first rooms we set up was my office. The nursery is in the works and there will be a reveal and multiple sneak peeks. I can’t function without being in a space where everything is placed exactly where it belongs. Totally type A personality happening over.
I’ve teamed up with my friends at Wayfair for this home office reveal. Make sure to check out all my home office details below and where I store and find all my office goodies!
A few years back I spotted this desk at a thrift store. It was horrible looking and just needed a little TLC. I removed the yucky yellow color and added the Melissa Creates teal color. This desk is one of a kind and will be sticking around a very long time, such a lucky find! My husband spotted a chair a few weeks after we found the desk that needed a little TLC as well. We added a distressed white color to it and changed out the fabric to a vintage floral pattern.
Let’s talk about this rug. It’s amazing, right? My friends at Wayfair made sure my new office had an extra touch of class with this grey and white chevron rug. Check out all their rug options here. My office isn’t a large space, but the rug was needed to officially complete the space. If you’re aiming to add more color tones and patterns to a home office a rug is where it’s at!
I picked up this vintage wood stand several months back at a vintage market. I had my eye on it for a week and knew if I didn’t grab it someone else would. You’ll spot some Shop Melissa Creates goodies on the top and styling props on the bottom self. When it comes to styling props I have lots and they are placed throughout my office, kitchen and in storage bins in the garage. This shelf holds my plates, platters and trays. My cake stands and larger platters you’ll find in the kitchen because I would have an anxiety attack seeing them all displayed in the same spot.
How do you store your serving plates, trays, etc?
Having a cork board lamp rocks. Everyone should have one. Earlier this year when I attended Alt Summit I made sure to take a ton of goofy photos with my favorite bloggers. The Wayfair booth was simply too pretty to not take full advantage of. You can read more about my Alt Summit trip here.
I spy some Shop Melissa Creates notepads and cell cases that will be going on sale very soon.
Hint hint, wink wink.
Our little Dodger decided he needed to be in a photo. He’s a ham and I had to ask him to get out of the photos at least 10 times. He feels cozy in my office and spends the afternoons sitting at my feet. With how adamant he was about being in a photo I decided one had to be shared. Silly boy.
Now a look into my craft closet. You’ll spot more styling props, fabric and drawers of craft supplies and ribbon. One can never have enough ribbon and fabric. You might recognize some of these props from recipes, crafts and general entertaining posts I’ve styled on the blog.
I tend to keep a clean and clutter free desk. I write things down all. the. time. so cute notepads are a must for my desk. If there isn’t a note to do it, it won’t get done. I think they call that pregnancy brain and soon it will be mom brain.
I have a little collection of name tags from events in a drawer, but my latest name tag from Blog Fete stands proudly on my desk. Kori Clark gifted me the lets be awesome print. She’s cool like that. The rise and shine painting was also done by Kori, she’s one talented lady. You can see more photos from the stunning too legit to quit calligraphy sign here. I took it home from one of the Alt Summit parties… with permission of course.
Now back to work I go!
