It’s a new week and I’m sipping my coffee planning out the things I plan to tackle. I had a wildly productive weekend and while I have a cold I plan to stay as productive as possible. I didn’t make a new years resolution but I did make a promise to myself to stay actively present so this is where the motivation to stay productive comes in to play, smartly productive that is. My word of the year is focus. Being present and staying focused on the task at hand is what 2017 will be all about for me. I know you’re wondering where a DIY monogram clutch comes in to play here. My new super cute (patting myself on the back) DIY clutch will be my go-to for daily essentials will help keep me focused on the task at hand because I’ll have snacks and daily used items by my side where ever I go. Anyone else always looking for their daily items and they’re strung all over the place? Yep, my super fancy clutch will keep me in line. wink
Get the simple DIY monogram clutch how to details below along with more details about my plans to live by my word of the year.
So, how do I plan to be present a bit more? I plan to prep for the day at hand a bit better, I plan to roll with things and not let a snafu throw me off and I plan to give 100% of my energy to the task at hand be it work or playing with my sons. I too often stop and check an email or stop and post on social media when I should be living a bit more in the present moment.
When it comes to work I allow distractions in. It’s so hard to work from home and not allow the family to pull me away from a project, which then makes the project take double the amount of time that is truly required. I plan to take myself on coffee dates away from the home to sit down and tackle work on my computer.
Now when I leave the house to run to the park with the kids I’ll have my fancy clutch with my “me items”. Like most moms I neglect me and pack the diaper bag with essentials for the babies, but now I’ll have a clutch with my essentials and won’t go hungry or be searching for 20 minutes in my massive diaper bag for my sunglasses. When I leave the house for my solo coffee work date I’ll have my favorite lipstick, my new favorite snacks and other can’t leave home without essentials in hand without dragging around the diaper bag.
Seriously, everyone (mom or not) make yourself this fancy clutch and be sure to take care of you!
Before we dive into the DIY details, let’s chat about my new favorite snack and go-to grab and go treat. Next time you’re in Target swing by the snack bar section (photo below) and grab a handful of the new Special K Protein® Bars and Special K Nourish® Bites. If you’re in Target as often as I am you’ll be grabbing these weekly because they are that good! Have one on the go, keep a few in your clutch and they go fantastic with morning coffee.
The Caramel Pretzel Cashew Protein Bars are amazingggg, the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I get in 8 grams of protein too! The Nourish Bites are an easy snack and the Blueberry Almond Quinoa is my favorite with the Dark Chocolate Pistachio being a close second. Wholesome ingredients with crave worthy flavors for the win!
