It’s been awhile since I had a cupcake or even shared a cupcake with y’all. I’ve switched to team cake and team cookie but I don’t want to leave the cupcake all alone so I dressed up a cupcake I made from a thick sheet cake and was pleasantly surprised by the results…so much so I decided to share it. It’s not a secret the girl behind the blog likes sweets but I also have a proclivity for all things salty. My mouth waters when I think of chips or sea salt, anyone else do the same thing? I made a strawberry cake with strawberry icing before I welcomed fall and now Christmas decor. To dress up my strawberry cake I cut the cake into round sections creating custom no edge and no muffin like top cupcakes and then looked over in the pantry and noticed the sea salt chips were screaming my name, yet again. Just like my toddler those chips are always yelling at me. So, I took things to the next level and added a chip topping to my strawberry cupcakes and then took a bite. WOW.
Here’s the delio. You’ll need super crunchy chips, toss the old not so fresh ones, girl. You will also need a super moist cake and glass to cut out circles to create your naked cupcakes. Naked, isn’t that an odd term for a cake without icing or edges? Moving on.
Cut out and create your naked cupcakes, top with icing and then take things to the next level and add a few chips. Take a bite, wait a minute for the amazingness to kick in because it may seem odd at first and then share it with your besties.
