In the mist of all the holiday hustle and festive table displays and holiday inspired projects I’m breaking the rules and sharing an everyday tablescape to showcase any day of the year. It’s refreshing seeing a simple and fun tablescape during the holidays, right? Also, anything that involves a pretty table with sparkling wine and I’m in. Celebrating special occasions calls for pretty table displays, wine and details the guests can’t help but miss. Outside of special occasions the same elements apply and it’s even more special because you’re hosting a gathering simply because… not sure it gets anymore special than that!
Get my everyday celebrating tablescape tips below along with a must have sparkling wine below.
My top entertaining tips (and some secrets) for setting an everyday tablescape:
White dishes. White is your bestie and white dishes pop against any tablecloth and let the food and drinks shine. I have a few sets of white dishes, even the ones that don’t break if they fall. If you don’t have a set put it on your need list.
A touch of fancy. Have gold cutlery or fancy cloth napkins on display when you’re entertaining guests. I purchased this gold flatware a year ago and pull it out often. Be sure to take good care of your cloth napkins and cutlery so they are able to be reused.
Create a centerpiece. There should ALWAYS be some touch of decor on the table and I suggest making that the centerpiece. For this display I used garland. This garland I purchased at the craft store and I have used it in so many ways. It is made of wire, so it can be molded to create a dramatic circle or pulled out in length to make a centerpiece table runner.
Items from your home. This is my top entertaining tip. Pull items from your home decor and add them to the table. Nothing showcases your personal style like your own home decor. For this table setting I pulled antlers I have on display throughout my home in various locations. One small touch adds a punch of dramatic to the table.
Now let’s chat sparkling wine. I’m sure I’m totally speaking your language here. wink
I’m new to Gloria Ferrer sparkling wines but oh my goodness, I’m a fan! Seriously this is some of the BEST sparkling wine I’ve had yet and I’m excited to add it to my must have wine list. This sparkling sip has received over 500 gold medals and 50 90+ ratings in the last 5 years. Gloria Ferrer sparkling wine is California’s most awarded sparkling wine house, no wonder I enjoy it so much! The Sonoma Brut has a delicate pear and floral tone with a bit of toasted almonds, it’s creamy and would be phenomenal with chicken. The Blanc De Noirs has a pink hue and looks stunning in a wine glass. This one has a strawberry and black cherry aroma with subtle vanilla highlights and would pair best with semi-sweet desserts, aged cheese such as Gouda and nuts. See why you need both in your life? Go ahead and add Gloria Ferrer to your sparkling wine list, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Now that you’ve set the table with style, selected your preferred sparkling wine and added in home decor elements you’re ready to welcome guests. Now it’s off to the kitchen (with a glass of wine in hand) to check on dinner before guests arrive.
Happy year round entertaining.
