This might totally shock some but we are not big Valentine’s Day celebrators. I see how the day can be special and sweet but we’re more into spreading the love throughout the year instead of on a specific generic day. That sounds so harsh, but I’m just being sweetly honest about our view on it. I’ve decided this year we will “celebrate” by binge watching Netflix on Valentine’s Day weekend. That counts as celebrating, right? We are late to the binge watching game (we blame the babies) but we are so pumped to be back to actually watching shows. It’s not often we watch tv and we don’t have cable but nap times and weekends we carve out some us time to watch a bit of Netflix. This is still new to us since our youngest just turned 1 and we have a moment to actually watch tv. Parenting struggles, right?
A few weeks back I got very sick and was locked in our bedroom to heal and limit exposure to the rest of the family for 2 full days. What did I do in bed for 2 days? I watched season 1 of Stranger Things (oh my gosh, I totally get the hype) and started watching The Crown (hello, Matt Smith, I’ve missed you!). While I was truly miserable in bed I did like having the chance to watch these epic shows. I told the husband to try Stranger Things and I think he’s hooked, so now I get to binge season 1 with him before we dive into season 2 and girl, I can’t wait!
This Valentine’s Day, even though we don’t typically do any special event, we plan to binge watch Netflix shows like a boss… or until the kids wake up from nap time… or until we pass out from exhaustion after bed time. We’ve obviously got huge goals.
Cheers to love and epic shows.
