Late 2017 we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary, cheer to us! We originally planned a 3 night 4 day stay at a B&B in Savannah but we had to change plans and stay local as I was still nursing a baby and we had severe damages to our home post hurricane. To be honest I was a hot mess about leaving our babies for that many nights as we’ve yet to leave them at all prior, so a local staycation was just the ticket for our wedding anniversary. It took all of 30 seconds to decide we were staying on Disney property for our anniversary celebration. Disney is about a 45 minute drive for us in I-4 traffic so we were too far from the kids but far enough to relax a tad bit while they were in great hands. If you’re considering a Disney stay for an anniversary but can’t decide if it will be enough I’m sharing 5 ways to celebrate your wedding anniversary at Disney World to inspire you to book that stay! From Pandora at night to selecting the right resort to dining reservations I’ve got your Disney wedding anniversary all planned out.

5 Ways to Celebrate a Wedding Anniversary at Disney World
- Book dining reservations for 2
We frequent Disney monthly with the kids and if we have dining reservations they’re typically character meetings. While we love the character meet-n-greets at Disney restaurants we never get to sit down and enjoy a meal as a couple with a glass of champagne in the middle of the day inside Magic Kingdom. I can’t recommend doing this enough, especially when you’re celebrating an anniversary. We’ve been wanting to try Tony’s for awhile and we both love Italian dishes so it was perfect! The food was amazing, the champagne fantastic, and in true Disney etiquette they treated us fantastic as we enjoyed a hearty meal with a toast (and without rush or hungry kids).
2. Stay on Disney property in a Disney themed resort.
We stay on property a few times a year with the kids, so this isn’t new to us but staying somewhere with focus on just us was! One of our favorite resorts is the Disney New Orleans Riverside and we were eager to try New Orleans French Quarter. This was such a great spot to stay as a couple. We had beingets whenever we wanted and it felt like we were really enjoying romantic walks in the French Quarter. Of course we talked about how much the kids would enjoy this resort too. We went with the flow and used the buses to hop around the parks without rush. We can’t wait to try another resort as a couple this fall, I’m thinking Disney’s Yacht Club!
3. Enjoy Pandora at night
You can book fastpasses up to 30 days in advance BUT if you stay in a Disney resort you can book fastpasses 60 days in advance. We booked fastpasses for the Avatar rides and it was beyond worth it, I can’t imagine waiting in like 1-2 hours. We also loved seeing Pandora at night and sipped on adult beverages; Pandora themed of course. While we could do Pandora in the evening with the kids, they go to bed early so we would have limited time. It was so nice to ride the rides without wait, sip on a fruity drink, and look at the magical glow of Pandora.
4. Theme park magic hours + Theme park seasonal merchandise
When you stay on Disney property you get the perk of entering select parks an hour before others and staying at select parks an hour later. We don’t frequent Epcot as often as we do the other parks making it a must for us this anniversary celebration. We entered Epcot the second the “doors opened” for us giving us hours and hours of theme park time and ample time to park hop. The Disney resort brings so many perks and I’m not sure anything beats relaxing theme park strolls with your love. We were there during the fall so we soaked up all the themed decor and special items in each shop. Fall and Winter at Disney theme parks is my favorite!
5. Take epic photos at the most magical place on earth.
There’s nothing that beats taking fun photos at Disney. We had such a blast taking silly couple photos, capturing wedding anniversary celebratory moments, and literally jumping for joy. This might be my favorite thing about our anniversary celebration at Disney- letting lose as husband and wife and not just as the parents at Disney. I can’t recommend adult getaways to Disney enough, y’all!
Cheers to celebrations, cheers to anniversary’s of all sorts, and cheers to Disney for giving us so much magic to soak up when we need it most.
